I have to admit, I'm SUPER hyped for Terraria 1.3, and I bet you are too! But this recent trailer for the update raises some questions: Who is that NPC hitting the bat with his cane? What is that new crate? Why are the Pillar's graphics so much better than everything else in the game? Well, I'm here to give some possible answers to those questions.
I think the mystery NPC hitting the bat with the cane is the Tax Collector. He looks kind of like Scrooge from A Christmas Carol. So... yeah. I think the new crate is a Demonite crate. It has a purple color scheme and was fished from a flooded Corruption chasm. If this is true, Crimtane crates as well maybe? I think the Pillar boss is the thing that connects Terraria and Terraria: Otherworld. It seems to have Otherworldly graphics. Heh. Otherworldly, get it? They are Otherworldly since, y'know, they're from a Terraria: Otherw- I should stop talking. I don't think the Treasure Bag is dropped by just Duke Fishron. I think other Hardmode bosses drop it too. Why just Hardmode bosses? Well, if you see in the video, it has a Lime rarity. Lime items are acquired around Plantera and the Golem. Also that guy who seems to turn into the Pillar looks like Crowno.

I've noticed some similarities between Mojang and Re-Logic.
Several years into the development of the games, the lead developer stops working on them (Notch stopped in December 2011 and Redigit plans to work on other things after Terraria 1.3 is released). Around the time of a large update to the games, (Minecraft's 1.8 update and Terraria's 1.3 update) a story-based spinoff of each game is announced (Minecraft: Story Mode and Terraria: Otherworld). Coincidence? Say what you think in the comments. The following post has some spoilers in it.
Basically ever since it was first on Cartoon Network, I've been a big fan of Steven Universe. If you don't know what Steven Universe is, Google is your friend. Go use it. The further into this Crystal Gems vs. Homeworld Gems fight we get, the more I realize I need to get some ideas I have out. I feel like this battle should end with a huge Steven Universe/Night Vale crossover movie! Here are two short descriptions I made up for it: 1. While investigating some mysterious warp locations that suddenly opened up, the Crystal Gems find another group of Earth-friendly gems! They end up having to team up with them after Jasper escapes from the bottom of the ocean and makes it back to Homeworld to form an army. 2. Peridot and Jasper are back and more powerful than ever! That's alright, though, since the Crystal Gems have teamed up with a trio of gems from a small desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and strange lights pass overhead as we all pretend to sleep. Cool, right? The Night Vale gems' names would be Bloodstone, Hematite, and Zircon. Bloodstone's weapon would be like the clawshots from various Legend of Zelda games. Hematite's weapon would be a hammer similar to that of Thor from the Avengers. Zircon would have a pair of hatchets, a reference to Night Vale citizen Leann Hart's habit of attacking news bloggers with hatchets. Bloodstone's gem(s) would be where her fingernails should be. Hematite's gem would be on her inner right forearm. Zircon's would be on her hips. Hopefully either Rebecca Sugar or Joseph Fink sees this. |
